There are a number of restaurants and creperies in St Michel, some of which are within walking distance. There is also a tabac, a hotel, a pleasant church by the sea and a boulangerie. Public tennis court in St Michel and riding school. Wind Surfing and Land Yachting. Sailing Club at St Efflam, 5 minutes by car. The Grand Rocher, an 80m belvedere, provides wonderful views across the magnificent beach which is 4km long. The beach provides very safe bathing from the property. St-Efflam has a Chapelle and fountain where Efflam , a hermit who came from Ireland landed in AD 470 on the beach. Plestin-les-Greves, is 10 minutes by car where there are more restaurants and a large supermarket. It was here St Efflam lived, founded a monastery and died in AD512. The 16c church burned down in 1944, has been restored and contains the tomb of St Efflam. Plestin also has a very good market on Sundays and has a small cinema.

A 20 minute drive will take you to the fairytale like sandy coves of the Emerald Coast. The local area is packed with great entertainment parks and activities for children of all ages. At La Tarais Gites there are 3 well equipped cottages comprising 1 – 2 bedrooms and one large house with 7 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms for family reunions or holidays with groups of friends. 2 Bedroom house in a delightful setting in Dinan’s Jardin Anglais. This is a pretty little 19th Century house located within the walls of the medieval town of Dinan in Brittany. Its position in ‘Le Jardin Anglais’ (The English Garden) and beside the magnificent St Saveur Basilica is quite unique. Only a few minutes walk from the center of the town with its restaurants, crepêries, shops and bars, it is nevertheless a peaceful and idyllic area. The house has been renovated to a high standard and is beautifully furnished and well equipped. The main living area is on the first floor so that the views of the church and the garden can be enjoyed. It includes: a modern kitchen, a lounge area with satellite TV, DVD and hifi stereo with iPod dock, a dining area and a mezzanine office area with broadband connected computer. There are two double bedrooms, one large on the ground floor with en-suite bath, and one smaller on the top floor with en-suite shower. Although very compact, the space within the house is well designed and is ideal for one or two couples.

It is one mile from the village of Plumaudan which has a restaurant, boulangerie, post office, church and tabac and is about a 10 minute drive to the picturesque and historic town of Dinan with its lovely old port, the cobbled Rue du petit Fort leading through the Jerzual gate giving access to the walled town, ‘La Maison du Gouverneur’ (the Governor’s House) and an abundance of top quality restaurants and bars. Beautiful sandy beaches are within a 40 minute drive.
